Requirements

• An individual must be a minimum of 21 years old
• Achieve a clean result on a Ryder drug test
• Meet the requirements of passing a Ryder background and motor vehicle investigation, as well as providing verification of drug and alcohol history from former employers spanning the last three years
• Receive clearance for a DOT physical examination
• Meet the requirements for passing a Ryder road assessment
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
• Verifiable experience in driving a tractor trailer or equivalent commercial vehicle of Class A caliber is a must:
• Applicants should have accumulated 9 months of experience in the past 3 years
• A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in the last 5 years, OR
• Over the course of the last 10 years, 5 years of practical experience
• Skill in carrying out written and/or spoken guidance
• Proficiency in interpreting and applying rules, regulations, and procedures

Responsibilities

• Maintaining conformity with applicable federal and state laws and regulations as well as agency standards
• Recognizing and mitigating potential dangers to maintain detailed records and journals
• Providing support with the loading and unloading of freight as requested by the customer
• Executes any other tasks as delegated
